Lou Clark knows lots of things. She knows how many footsteps there are between the bus stop and home. She knows she likes working in The Buttered Bun tea shop and she knows she might not love her boyfriend Patrick.
What Lou doesn’t know is she’s about to lose her job or that knowing what’s coming is what keeps her sane.
Will Traynor knows his motorcycle accident took away his desire to live. He knows everything feels very small and rather joyless now and he knows exactly how he’s going to put a stop to that.
What Will doesn’t know is that Lou is about to burst into his world in a riot of colour. And neither of them knows they’re going to change the other for all time.
So happy that I finally got the chance to read this before the movie comes out! I absolutely love this book! I love Will and Lou together. Lou is just my absolute favorite. She is just so happy and bubbly and different. I’m actually kind happy that I watched the trailer for this movie before reading the book even though it give a lot away. The title of the second book After You, is also a spoiler. Like, you know what’s going to happen. But to he honest, the casting for the movie is spot on.
I love that Will eventually warmed up to Lou. He became happy around her. I can kind of understand as to why he was so rude to her. He didn’t want to become attached to anyone before he did what he had planned. That’s just my theory. The one part that I didn’t like was when Lou had told him that she loved him, he said that it wasn’t enough and that he was still going to go through with his plan. (Sorry to be vague. I just don’t want to give out spoilers.) If someone lays out their heart like that and you tell them that their love isn’t enough, I wouldn’t know what to do.
LITERALLY. This guy is a total dick! He was always making remarks about Lou’s weight. She didn’t ask for your opinion Buddy. Okay?
I give this book 4.5 out of 5 stars because what would have made it better is if we had Will’s POV. The movie Me Before You comes to theaters June 3, 2016. If you want to hear more of my thoughts, watch the video down below.
