Goodreads Description: Katy knows the world changed the night the Luxen came. She can’t believe Daemon welcomed his race or stood by as his kind threatened to obliterate every last human and hybrid on Earth. But the lines between good and bad have blurred, and love has become an emotion that could destroy her—could destroy them all. Daemon will do anything to save those he loves, even if it means betrayal.
They must team with an unlikely enemy if there is any chance of surviving the invasion. But when it quickly becomes impossible to tell friend from foe, and the world is crumbling around them, they may lose everything— even what they cherish most—to ensure the survival of their friends…and mankind. War has come to Earth. And no matter the outcome, the future will never be the same for those left standing.
It’s taken me a year, but I’ve finally managed to read this book! I have officially finished the Lux Series. I really love reading from Daemon’s POV. I just can’t stand that he keeps using the word ‘awesome’ and my ‘awesomeness’. I kept cringing because in books 3 and 4, he used those words too much.
Even though I love this series a lot and rated it 4 out of 5 stars, it really could have done without Katy making ridiculous references at inappropriate times and Daemon being more mature. Daemon really didn’t to make so many sexual innuendos when they thought that they were going to die and though that the world was ending. He was immature. But no only were Daemon and Katy making ridiculous references all of the time, Archer and Hunter and Luc were. Basically all of the characters were. I really had enough of it. 😔
After rereading the series, don’t get me wrong, I still love Daemon and Katy, but just not as much as I used to. Daemon is arrogant and immature and Katy is ridiculously stubborn. I mean really?! The amount of times that she should have just listen to people, she wouldn’t have gotten hurt as much or maybe even at all. I know that it sounds like I’m bashing on Katy and Daemon, I’m just pointing out things that I didn’t notice the first time that I read the series. I still highly recommend this series for when you need to get out of a reading slump or if you want to read about aliens and never have before. I truly love this series.
