Goodreads Description: Bianca wants to escape.
She’s been uprooted from her small hometown and enrolled at Evernight Academy, an eerie Gothic boarding school where the students are somehow too perfect: smart, sleek, and almost predatory. Bianca knows she doesn’t fit in.
Then she meets Lucas. He’s not the “Evernight type” either, and he likes it that way. Lucas ignores the rules, stands up to the snobs, and warns Bianca to be careful—even when it comes to caring about him.
“I couldn’t stand it if they took it out on you,” he tells Bianca, “and eventually they would.”
But the connection between Bianca and Lucas can’t be denied. Bianca will risk anything to be with Lucas, but dark secrets are fated to tear them apart . . . and to make Bianca question everything she’s ever believed.
This book was a reread for me. I had been waiting months to reread this and finally it came in and I scooped it up. The first time I read it, I enjoyed. I still enjoyed when I reread it, but it confused me. Bianca, the main character, is a vampire and she knows it. I think that that would have been a thing to mention in the description. I thought that she didn’t know that she was a vampire at all, and I think that it would have been better if she didn’t know that she was one because her reaction made me think that she didn’t know what she was. I did enjoy rereading it, but not as much as I did the first time. The first time, I gave it 5 out of 5 stars, but this time I gave it 3 out of 5. It’s a good book to read if you want to get out of a reading slump, but the only bad part is that if you don’t marathon these books, you will forget what happened, very quickly. It’s a good book, but that’s it. It’s good. There’s really nothing special about it.
